Update v2.0.0
Welcome to Update 2.0.0 (0.0.8 if you're going by the old counting system) That's right, we've changed the way we count updates, but putting that aside, there's bigger things to talk about... Introducing what is probably ROBOLAND's biggest update yet, and most of it is bug fixes...
BUT, not to worry, if bug fixes aren't your thing, we have even better news, as much as I've worked tirelessly on every single bug fix here (which is way too much time spent looking at the screen) but I also would like to present to you a few new things added in this here update.
Some highlights are:
- Updated beginning story to improve gameplay
This is something that I wanted to do for a while, the beginning was kind of slow and not very story rich, it was made early on and I have improved my skills since then. So this whole section is updated and hopefully give a little more context in the world of Roboland.
- Added some Colour Grading to the world of Roboland.
This was the last addition I made as I was flying around the map, doing stuff with post processes, and I found the magical setting called "Color Grading" this of course is nothing new, but for Roboland, this is something entirely different. In normal areas, this makes the colours really POP out. As for other areas though, these are either the "Dead Zone" or the area where humans were last. (Well that was the original part of the story but for some reason we never put broken down buildings and such in.)
And finally, yes Nova, I did add in your logo you made a while ago as the main logo.
As a final word, before you move on to read the very detailed patch notes, on behalf of NovaPlaysYT and myself, I would like to thank you all for downloading Roboland, and being here to enjoy the experience with us. I feel like a broken record repeating myself, but we really didn't intend to make a AAA title game with all fancy story and gameplay. The main intent was to learn Unreal Engine and it's tools. We have learnt all we wanted to learn and thus, this game will go down as a memory. We enjoyed working on Roboland, so I hope you enjoy playing it, even if there isn't that much there, you can at least appreciate the 3-4 years we spent working on it, learning, gaining new knowledge.
Thank you once again, and have a good time!

Now onto the patch notes!
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where the "Water Low" warning would remove itself instantly, causing it to never appear.
- Fixed a bug where the "Health Low" warning ALSO removed itself instantly, causing it to never appear and make sounds.
- Added another directional light source with low intensity to the main map in an attempt to bring back your sight so you don't get lost at night. The new Gamma setting can also help if this isn't enough.
- Fixed a bug where you couldn't turn off "Show FPS".
- Fixed a bug where "NVIDIA DLSS" settings would apply changes instantly, now requires you to click Apply to apply the changes.
- Changed "Fullscreen" option text to "Fullscreen Mode"
- Repositioned the "Reset" and "Apply" buttons in "Audio" options.
- Changed text colour of "Reset" and "Apply" buttons in "Audio" options.
- Fixed a bug when you click Apply in "Audio" settings tab, the "Saving" widget would appear. This doesn't happen anywhere else in the options menu, so we removed it.
- Stopped Campfire from hurting you due to a bug during cutscenes.
- Fixed an issue with the "SawSomethingNearLastObjective" dialogue.
- Fixed multiple dialogue issues.
- Moved "The Door" interaction box to a more suitable location.
- Removed delay on "The Door" collision box when closing to avoid situations where you could get stuck in The Door.
- Fixed Normals on "Beta Drone" model.
- Fixed an issue with loading Objective Descriptions from saves.
- Fixed a rare bug that would occur when selecting "New Game" from the SinglePlayer Menu that would remove the UI before the rest of the code was finished, causing you to just stare at the ground infinitely.
- Fixed a bug where in rare cases, the main level would never load.
- Fixed a bug where the "Begin Game" trigger would spawn in a bit late, causing you to see Brink falling into it before entering the cutscene.
- Fixed a bug where you could punch during the "look around" animation at the beginning of the game.
- Fixed a bug where player input was still enabled during "Begin Game" sequence.
- Removed "Enable Input" from "Begin Game" trigger as input gets disabled right after anyway, making it unnecessary as input gets enabled once the cutscene is complete.
- Fixed a bug with Graphical Quality Index defaulting to 4, which doesn't exist.
- Fixed a bug with Graphical Quality being set to High by default. New default is Epic.
- Fixed a bug where Toon Shaders were on by default until you opened Options.
- Fixed a bug where the sky would reset to default when Fire Created Cinematic would finish.
- Fixed a bug where if you lag during the spawning in of the Patrol Path, the AI would not be set to it, and walk randomly.
Updates
- Switched "Graphical Quality" to a combo box (finally) to match the style of the rest of the menu.
- Added "Gamma" option to "Graphics Options" so you can finally make adjustments if necessary (like for times where its WAY too dark because the devs are bad at their job :p).
- Removed extra window in "Graphics" options called "Resolution".
- Moved "Resolution" options to the main window to make the menu less complex, which also means Apply now changes to the set resolution.
- Changed the colour of certain combo box texts to a more readable colour on theme with the game.
- Moved "Subtitles" option from "Graphics" settings tab to "Audio" settings tab.
- Added a random chance for different logos from our collection of logos to show up on the Main Menu only.
- Tidied up the some menus.
- Updated certain cutscenes.
- Removed Movement Tutorial, we all know how to move, right?
- Updated Credits
- Countdown????
- Updated beginning story to improve gameplay.
- Added new models for Voice Module Parts.
- Updated how we count versions (including past posts) so that it makes more sense. (e.g. 1.2.3, 1 being a Major Update with BIG changes to the map(s) and new features added, 2 is a Minor Update with smaller changes to features and other things, 3 is a patch with bug fixes for things that we broke.)
- Updated Splash Screen, Icon and Logo.
- Removed "Brief News" Widget from popping up.
- Adjusted "FireCreatedCinematic" to look slightly better.
- Switched to "Shipping" build. (Saved Folder is now found at C:\Users\"Name"\AppData\Local\roboland)
- Brought back the fog you all know and love.
- Added some Colour Grading to the world of Roboland. (I flew around the level gawking at how much prettier and less grey the game looks for a little longer than I should have.) Note: Not ALL places are so colourful, if you run into a greyer area than the rest of the map, this IS intentional. It sets the mood for that area.
